Repainted the house... changed colors

I was trying to stick to the standard colonial look... And white was too boring.

House looks a creamy yellow when not in the bright sunlight. Hard to see in the pic, a bit over over exposure. House faces north so it's hard to get a good shot of it.

Ended up using Sherwin Williams duration paint, 2 coats on everything.

Before (before we even moved in)

Now

Nice job! You did that yourself or got a contractor?

Looks very nice. Our house is the typical white/black shudders colonial.

Looks nice.. although having green grass in the 2nd pic does make the house seem a lot nicer and more lively

Ya, well that pile of leaves was almost 2 years worth (22bags if I remember right). Grass was toast. We had to re-seed the front yard completely.

Taken with two different cameras... why the hue is so different (OLD sony CCD, and a Cannon Rebel on the newer). Also a year apart. The grass wasn't that green in the top pic, lol.

beautiful house. Did you do the paint work by yourself or did you hire someone to do it?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it was a contractor, and that he did some of the wood rot repair, lap siding and cedar trim but they did the rest.

Looks really good Siggy

Looks good Siggy. The front door makes a huge difference too. Now trim the tree on the left in the second pic.

Thanks everyone.

Ya tree trimming is on the list.

And I'll have to repair the lawn a bit in the fall. Got some sorta fungus on it and the painters just tracked it all around the house. So I have a lot of re-seeding to do. But no big deal... grass is easy to grow...

The second I saw the first pic I knew that it had to be a Kansas City house. Looks good!

Got to love our leave piles during the fall... I had 3 separate pickups of 14+ bags this fall... and I have a small yard!

House looks great. Good Lenexa look.
