Remote for buzzing someone in - Condo/Apt Related

Does anyone know if they make a universal or wireless remote for when someone buzzes in at the front door you can use a remote to let them in, instead of using the device on the wall each time to let someone in?

Not lazy, just would be cool to have.

Edit: realized I should've put this in the electronics section if somoene wants to move it.

All the places in Los Angeles for the past 25 years have the door/gate intercom hooked to the phone line; the resident answering the call from the door can let in the caller by pressing "9"; is that different from your set-up?

Most of the condos/Apts here have a buzzer system at the front door with everyone's last name on it. You press the button of the last name of the owner. Inside my unit, the intercom is located by the door. You either buzz the visitor into the building or you speak to them while they are outside to see who it is.

If I am sitting on my couch or in another room, I am a good 30ft away. If I dont want to get up, I would love to just hit a button on the remote to let people in, instead of walking to the intercom every time.

I know they sell whole units, but I dont think the association will allow that. I'm just looking for a universal programmable remote with the existing intercom.

A stick?

I know the type of system you are referring to. They're old school. I'm not sure if there is a way to improve it unless the whole thing is overhauled (eg: routed via phone line, as mentioned above).

Don't know if these will work, but they may Best bet would be to ask your HOA or Management company and see if they know of what will work.

Thanks. I'll have to see if/what my association allows.
