Ralph Lauren Suede Paint?

Anybody ever use this stuff? Happy with results? Was it a pain in the butt?

My wife used it and she did this technique to get a fuller look. Basically, she applied the first coat with a standard roller and let it dry. She then came back with a 4" wide hand brush and used random cross strokes to achieve a more 3D look. It turned out pretty cool.

Do you have any pics? I have been looking into a lot of paint options for my new pad and really like seeing a few different real life applications of non-traditional type paint - thanks!

I did it in my bedroom. I love the warm look, and everyone that's been in it (I just realized they've all been female) has liked it.
Application was a royal PAIN IN THE ASS! To get the rich look it took 2 passes with a roller then the pattern by brush.
There's been rubbing and scratching against the surface, and the paint has held up very well.

JPG Compression has a hard time with the pattern but here's wall in my bedroom:

(yes, I really need curtains, I know)
Here's another pic, pattern looks less busy in real life.

Upsides: Looks great, especially in low light.
Downsides: PITA to apply (the paint is heavy), expensive.

That looks cool, how much extra paint did you go though vs. regular paint?

That looks really nice and warm. If I did that, I'd go with a light color and darker color curtains.

I haven't tried but I don't see a way to paint over it. The only way to go as far as I can tell is to sand, and then paint. There's quite a bit of texture to the suede finish, it's like a very fine sandpaper, actually. Home Depot usually has samples so you can feel the texture.

I forgot to take pics. Looks just like the pic posted though, same color too.

It would not be possible to paint over it I don't think, you would definitely need to remove this first.

Shit, forgot to take pics. I can do that tonight. She used the paint in the two bathrooms - it created a really warm, full effect. The hardest part was going back over it with a hand brush to finalize the effect. I may be wrong, but she might have put in a little sand in the paint - maybe that was something else she did.

My wife and her sister are really into paint finishes and every one of our rooms has some type of finish on the walls.

A pretty cool brush she got recently was this "split" roller - basically, it is like one full length roller that is split into 2 smaller rollers and has a 2" gap between them. The roller comes with a tray that has 2 separate reservoirs - that allows you to take two complimentaty colors and create some sweet effects. She used it in our living room and created this leathery look, but it was done with relatively minimal effort. I think the kit comes with a synthetic sheep fur roller and a sponge roller to create different looks. They sell the kits at most any home improvement store.
