Question about 2 Bedroom Lofts

Okay, unless you are married, I don't understand how these are liveable. I was looking at a craigslist ad since I want to live in Brickell next year (http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/apa/992533514.html)

However, a 2bedroom loft means each bedroom is just wide open, so that each person from the bedrooms can hear one another and the tv etc?

I don't get it, can a 2 bedroom loft still have closed doors? If so, then its not really a loft right?

Usually the bedrooms are wide open but I am sure they worked something out to make it alittle more private for the bedrooms. I lived in a place in Ft Laudy where they called it a loft but what it really was was a kitchen, living room, and closed off bedroom downstairs with a "loft" above the kitchen over looking the living room.

I also, almost bought a loft in WPB where you entered from the kitchen and one side of the kitchen was basically missing so it opened out to the living room uninterrupted my counters or anything. The living room had glass floor to second story ceiling and then over the kitchen there were two bedrooms with 8' walls and then the ceiling with exposed pipes and stuff was about 4 feet above the walls

Maybe something like this where it is kind of enclosed

or this, very open, exposed stairs, kitchen basically in living area, and lots of glass

Those are nice. I love floor to ceiling windows, thats why a loft seems appealing to me, but I will have a roomate so unless the bedrooms are enclosed that would cause major problems I would imagine

you can add doors to lofts...but since the openings are floor to ceiling you won't gain total privacy...such as noise privacy.

So typically who lives in a 2/2 loft? Primarily a girlfriend and boyfriend or a married couple? Personally, I wouldn't want my roomate to be hearing every phone call I made etc.

Yeah I'd say a couple or single person usually. They actually just built some loft style condos across the way from me. The models are amazing. I'd buy one, but im married.
