I was thinking about getting a dog. What is a good way to avoid my house smelling like a kennel, other than regular clean up stuff?

 

The best way is to bathe the dog regularly. Look for a dog shampoo that has oatmeal in it. This will keep the shampoo from drying out the dogs skin & coat.

 

Frebreeze the dog regularly.

 

Just keep the house clean and the BIG one, keep the pet clean.

 

yeah bathing helps, but dont bathe more than once a week, itll strip the healthy oils from the skin and coat, even if youre using an aloe and oatmeal shampoo.
(and baby shampoo is a joke on animals)

also i wouldnt get a long haired dog then.

for the most part though my dogs dont make any smell except for the horrendous dog farts.

 

my aunt has a english dog... those of you who have owned or currently owns an english dog knows how sloppy they are. My aunt baths the dog every 2 weeks, she also keeps the house really clean. It can be done ali.ahmed, just takes some effort....
