Nutgrass

Also known as sedge. Grows in the grass, about twice as fast as the grass around it (my lawn is Kentucky Bluegrass) and is harder than hell to eliminate without taking the lawn with it.

Anyone here have any tips for getting rid of it?

Thanks Scrib -- the guy across the street is a head greenskeeper; when I asked him about it two years ago he said all I could really do is pull it out and make sure to get the "nut". Didn't find these in a google search either!

That's true... The grass is bulbus and so if you don't get it all, it'll some back.

Try stepping on the grass to expose the bulb. Spray the Ortho product down on it. That should help!
