This room and its little half bath are the only things on the bottom floor besides the garage. I haven't decided if i'll use it as an office or another bedroom. Its got its own zone of heating so if i leave it relatively empty I don't have to heat it that much during the winter.

Nice house. For being 23, you're further long than most people I know. It's hard to get new furniture when you've just bought a house. So what we did was we bought new everything while renting. The only problem we had with the new house was that one of our tables didn't go with the new paint colors and decor.
Funny enough we have the same bar stools. Did you get it from Bed Bath & Beyond?

We didn't have to buy the bar stools. We were lucky he left them. But we did see some of the same stools at target last week. lol
We are considering renting out the bottom appartment to our friend (the Si owner) Really all were looking to get is enough money to pay my TSX payment and his share of the utilities. Its hard though b/c I don't want to rent it to someone I don't know and we moved more than a hour away from all of our friends

Looking good and I totally understand about getting furniture to survive on and slowly replace it. I learned furniture is super expensive and I could only buy a piece or two at a time unless I wanted to go into some serious debt. I used to have those same exact bar stools and finally took the plunge and spent an absurd amount on the ones I wanted. Good things take time and you two have a great start, love the leather stuff
Just make sure you stay together haha

Really nice first house, I love the windows and the view. I think you'll get tired of having to go up a long flight of stairs all the time, though. I'd also want a service door for the garage -- I'd use the third stall for things like lawn equipment, and it'd be nice to have a way out that didn't involve sneaking it past a car.
