Man I would love to have something like that. So much fun to be had on that 4 wheeler and that is one serious lawn mower you got there.

My brother paid I believe $230,000 for his one bedroom 600 sq/ft "condo". I think 6 acres with no house would be in the million dollar plus range around here.

You want to push mow that much grass? I would get rid of an 1/2 acre of that grass just so I wouldn't be mowing all spring long. That is some nice, nice property. It would be easily over a million $ here too.

Nah, won't happen. The county has decided that the western half of the county will stay rural while the eastern half gets developed.

Plus, it's way too hilly to do any major developing around there.

Ha, I wasn't really being serious. I think the one on the right is 19 and the other is 18, but I could be wrong. But she was giving me the eyes when we were touring the house though, so

Hahaha. No, just a boat ramp at my Grandpa's place.

Funny thing is, my Grandpa lives about a mile from this house, and he was offered $5 million for 10 acres of land by a riverboat casino that is across the river in Indiana so they could put in a parking lot and a ferry.

Riverfront property FTW...

A lot of tobacco, corn, and soybean fields around here.

The river and Indiana. The boat ramp that leads to the beach in the other picture is directly to the right.

Sunsets on the beach. Notice the island...

Land is still pretty cheap here, but it's rising fast. Everybody is trying to move out this way because the other parts of the county are developing. Luckily my great grandpa bought all of our land for 10 cents an acre back in the day

My Dad built our house in 1993 for $50,000. Most people build there own houses here.

Nah, that's not ours. That's the current owners. I took all of these pictures when we toured the house, so everything you see is his.

We will need to buy a new mower though.

Ha, yeah it was perfect timing that they found this place so close.

They're expecting their first kid in December (a boy ), so that will be three people using five bedrooms, so it only made sense that I move in. He is only charging me $200 dollars a month.

I am cutting the grass, though, and taking care of the place when he travels, so it all works out.

Most CA lots (outside of farms) have to start with a decimal to be described using acres. Around here, if you have 1/4 of an acre, that is a HUGE lot.

Yeah I know. It's somewhat wishful thinking, but stuff is developing about 10x slower on this half of the county, so hopefully it stays that way.

Plus, my Dad would never willingly sell his land, so there is a huge chunk that won't get developed as long as I'm alive (since me and my brother will be inheriting it)

I know you spent a little bit of time around Cincinnati. I hope you aren't judging KY by what you think about Ohio, because it's completely different I swear

In south OC, that house (with not even1/4 acre) is anywhere from $1-1.5M. Yow.

Nice house for sure. I love the brick. We don't get any basements tho

i actually visited a house in riverside, ca that had a basement in it. was pretty surprised cause i assumed practically all houses in California had no basements.

interestingly enough, the house that had the basement belonged to the drummer of alien ant farm.

When I was little our house in California had a basement. Nothing like the basements here though. It was unfinished, and we used it for storage purposes.

Just to update...

My brother and his wife have 95% of their stuff in the house, but not organized yet. I have 0%, but that will change this weekend. Internet, Cable, and phone is now hooked up.

We're doing a lot of upgrades. A lot of painting and wallpapering going on, cleaned all of the carpets, etc.

We're still discussing if I am going to change out all of the plugs and switches with new ones. I want them changed, but I'm just waiting on them to decided if they want to spend the money. I'll probably change out a few lights and other small stuff.

I'll update again soon...

Thanks . They did a good job on a lot of stuff when they built it, but some things make you shake your head in a "what were they thinking" kinda way.

Are you still working on your house? The last thing I heard about it was probably last year or the beginning of this year...but I wasn't posting much earlier this year so I probably missed something on it...

Looks nice mang! I wish I could have that much property here... but, the place I just bought (3BR, 2.5 BA, Pool, 2250sqft) cost me $250k.

That what sucks about Florida... everything is so close together.
