Miele vacuum?

Anyone have a canister one? What do you think of it? Have narrowed down the choice of a canister vacuum to one of these two. Comments?

Miele is a top of the line canister. Why do you like them as apposed to an upright?

I have a Miele and it's a great vaccuum for non-carpeted floors. I can't believe how power it sucks air in, it's crazy. I don't use it on carpet that much, but the brush attachment would help. It gets a lot of stuff up just by sheer sucking power, but the brush would have to help on my rugs.

I have a Dyson for rooms with carpet. Replacing a 35 year old Eureka canister to do the hard floors and the car.

I own this one: http://www.achooallergy.com/miele-aq...m-cleaners.asp

We have owned it for amost 3 years - we bought it when we built the house as the entire first floor is hardwood (except for sunken family room). It is a really good vacuum. It is extremely gentle on the hardwood and has a real nice brush with it - which is primarily why we bought it. We also bought the power head for the rooms with carpet. i think it does a real good job. We have had some problems with the head getting my wife's long hair wrapped around the roller - so I have had to take it apart a couple times to really clean it out. It recently broke down and when I took it apart I saw the roller must have popped out of its 'guides' (for lack of the technical terminology) and it tried to mangle itself in there, but it seems ok since. So for the hardwood floors - best purchase ever (better be - they are real expensive) and I think the carpet cleaning is just as good, just not sure if the head is going to be a continuing problem.

One real gripe is the hose is very inflexible and seems to get in the way more so than my old Kenmore canister hose did. Anyway - powerful, quiet - a nice choice - especially if you have hardwood floors.

I've had a Miele Blue Moon with powerhead for the past ~4 years. Although expensive, it's one of the best home purchases I've made. I love the pivoting head, the variable suction power, the fac that it actually cleans well, the low noise level, and the fact that I can vacuum without my dust mite allergies killing me. It's a great tool.
