Mattress Shopping- Questions

Well I went to this mattress place where you get a full queen mattress with boxspring and frame rails and free delivery and setup. I thought the price was good at $432 out the door, it has a 10 year warranty. But i searched the name and couldnt find anything on google about the brand.

It is a therapedic milano queen plush set, I think the brand name is milano.

Is there anything special I should be concerned about when shopping around?

I found a floor model unmatched set queen ultra plush sealy for $460 and free delivery but no setup and they wont help me get it up to the second floor. What should I do?

you should get a good 10 years of comfort from it, at least it has a 10 year warranty. it's a tough call, since everyones' needs are different

What kind of mattress place is it? If its just a normal store, I'd suggest checking your area for mattress outlets. I got a really nice bed at one last year for really cheap, much cheaper than most of the regular stores were selling comparable beds for.

My personal choice in that price range would be the cheapest, firmest thing you can find, and then throw a 3" foam topper thing on it from overstock.com.

The 3" foam topper is too soft for me. I have lower back problems sometimes, so I need plush but therapedic.

buying a mattress is like buying a car. they'll try to get u to buy that day, and never pay sticker price. often at some of these big chains, u can knock off up to 40% of the price.
in some of the smaller/non-chains, u might not be able to knock off that much, but they might be cheaper to start with.
also no 2 stores have the same model numbers in their mattresses. each store gets a custom number so comparing it to a differen't stores mattresses are difficult (or rather takes a knowledge of mattress specs) which also make 30 day low price guarantees almost useless.

Why would you go cheap on your mattress? You spend up to 8 hours a day on it, you get laid on it and your going to have it for a long time to come.

I splurged and bought a Tempurpedic a few years ago and I will say with confidence that it was the BEST purchase I've ever made. I get a deeper more fullfilling sleep then I've ever gotten before. When I tell woman I have a tempurpedic they get excited and want to "see" it, its the easist way I've gotten woman into my bed, simply by having a bed. This is just my but there is no substitute for a good nights sleep, a high quality mattress is the best way to obtain it.

I agree with you, but it will only be used 3-4 years. Also, has anyone dealt with call-a-mattress before?

I don't know about you, but when I was 18 I didn't have $1500+ to spend on a mattress.

Your right, I didn't notice he was 18 until you mentioned it, at that age it might be difficult to scrape together that kind of dough for a mattress.
