Looking at houses, sold when I get there
Ok, I find a condo online, make and appointment only to get there and find out it is "under contract" so I can't see it but they have some available for just 150K or so more. This is really starting to piss me off because I went to see 3 places in the same building today and they ranged from 31-120 some days on the market and they conveniently were all under contract and still listed for sale when I got there.
Obviously, this is complete BS but don't they have 24 hours to pull the listing or is that just after it has been sold? I mean it is bait and switch IMO, get me there and then show me something way more expensive. Can I complain or do anything? I mean it is really wasting my time and would like to have some knowledge on this subject even if it is only to tell the guy to fuck off and not look like a complete idiot

to JB's comments. Get a better agent.
Typically there is a fine if a listing agent doesn't change the MLS when they go under contract. Are they still showing on the MLS (www.realtor.com)?

Do you know how long before you went to see it went under contract? With the way things are going these days, listings aren't getting updated as fast because so many things can go wrong. However, most people will still show a property while it's in "back-up offers" until they consider it "sold." There should have been some notes that a realtor could see (that the general public can't) that states this.
Anyway, aside from getting a new agent, get used to things like this. The good deals go fast, short sales take forever and some sellers still think their houses are worth a fortune. It's all part of the game.
