Question, that pergola looks sturdy as heck, any chance you could deck it and turn an upstairs window into a door? Or does that require further permitting?

 

Interesting idea. Perhaps could be done, but would require permitting. Nothing we've done to this point has had to be permitted/inspected, etc.

 

It looks over engineered and strong as heck, just an idea...maybe a couple of brackets to make it pass inspection. I'm sure your neighbors would like to look up and see your nutsack drinking your coffee in your robe in the mornings on your deck.
Plus, all the "hey guy's I got a pretty big deck" jokes you can make.

We had about a 40* temp swing last night. Was in the 80s yesterday & currently 47*. Firepit would be nice.
