Layed 1000 rolls of sod...

Me, my father and brother (and 3 of my fathers employees) layed 1000 rolls of sod yesterday...everbody took the day off and we knocked off our front yard...weve had a dirt feild there since we finished building the house (4 years ago) and its finally nice to see some grass there...we were 1 skid short of completing the front yard but it will be there on Friday so we can finish it up...everybody is sore and tired today and didnt want to do anything today...boy it was hot...(and inj total the 6 of us drank 63 bottles of water.....kept us hidrated but MAN did we sweat)...anyways, I will see if I can get some pics, I took some pics before we started and now I have to take some now...looks really nice...

haha, the thread is worthless w/o pics, but I hear ya.... we planted 3 trees this past weekend and it took about 4 hours of digging. Man, this Carolina red clay is like cement. My wife and I went through 23 glasses of water!! Hot as hell.

BTW, I know you posted this yesterday, but if you were sore then, wait until today... it's always worse the second day

BEFORE:

DURING:

AFTER:

Later on the roller came along and smoothed and flattened it all out so it looks really nice and seamless...the areas you dont see "sodded" will be done on Friday...2 more skids are coming and we will finish it up...hard work is great, when it pays off....

DAmn nigguuuhhhh, you got a bad ass mother#$# house!!!!!! nice!!! Luckyly here in FL or at least in miami, SOD comes in squares of maybe 15"x15". Not Rolls, But i see how rolls might be ALOT easier to place than sqaure by square. Why didn you just buy the seeds and in 2 weeks bam you have grass. That what the county does here when they have huge fields next to freeways.

We tried seeding once before, we checked over and over again for nice weather, ALL the weather channels GARANTEED good weather, we put the seeds, and that night we get the worst storm of the year and all of our seeds flowed down into the sewer, thats a good waste of five grand....

Its amazing now, people want to stop and talk to us now, they honk as they drive by (always used to wave, but never honked), and we are getting alot of compliments...

I guess you could say my father bought the land at the right time...

Oh, ya, you are the guy in Nobleton.

I used to ride my bike to your house and back (more or less), from woodbridge. Could do it in an hour, back when I was in shape.
