Kitchen Remodel (start to finish)

The lady that owned this house was a hoarder with cats. The original cabinets and appliances were all original, pulling the old stove out there were mouse nests inside. The new cabinet, appliances and kitchen overall has a more clean, classic, modern look. Functional with usb outlets, dimmers and led lights.

No, the half moon is a new edition also wired up with two outlets one half usb, half a plug outlet. And yes there is a stairwell on that side also redone.

I was looking at natural wood and also glass front cabinet doors but the white cabinets really caught my eye.

They were actually my last choice.

Thanks!

pictures are tiny but you can still see the update. Looks like Granite countertop? Alaskan White?

Those were small pics.
The ugly.

When we took out the drywall there was black label beer in the wall, we replaced it with our own.

1:30 in the morning, the drywallers were coming in the next morning early.

As it stands today, a little messy but the hanging lights are in as well as the under counter lights.

Some of your knobs are off kilter!

Namely the lazy susan knob and the left under sink one

I have to order new longer screws for the knobs and put a lock washer behind to keep in place. They are all off.

Awesome observation. Keep on Trucking!

I'm weird like that call it OCD, call it hyper observant.

Longer screws work, or you can countersink the screws 1/4" in or so with a 1/4" (I think i used 1/4") Forstner bit. I have this kit: https://www.amazon.com/PORTER-CABLE-PC1014-Forstner-Bit-14-Piece/dp/B004TSZEB4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488903908&sr=8-1&keywords=porter+cable+forstner.

Plus some blue loctite on the screw threads will help them from loosening up as well

Kitchen looks great! Last year we installed white cabinets with the same granite as you but still haven't finished the backsplash. My wife wants white subway tile probably like yours but I was so against it because I thought it looked cheap / old school but in your pictures it actually looks very good.

The subway tile has a beveled edge on them which I think look a lot better than the standard flat subway tile. Also the beveled edge scatters the light on them so they don`t seem so bright.

Otherwise I agree the standard subway tile looks to cheap and bright.

What other tiles / backsplash did you consider or was subway tile what you originally wanted?

The glass tile was pretty nice. But I like the copper brushed subway tile. You can also get it in stainless. It is peel and stick but i would recommend a bead of liquid nails on the back before installing. Easy to install.

copper tile looks awesome with darker cabinets like brown. What did you granite cost you if you don't mind me asking?

Granite was included in the Kitchen price. But I know granite is 38 plus a square=shop around.
