Kawasaki 19.2V Cordless 4-Tool Set

I just picked up a set of cordless Kawasaki tools from Costco. It comes with:

RECIPROCATING SAW CIRCULAR SAW, DRILL, WORKLIGHT, 2 BATTERIES, CHARGER, DRILL BIT SET, DRIVER BIT SET, MANUALS CARRYING CASE, SAW BLADE

I'm sure it's not going to be a solid as most sets, but for $130, it seemed worth it. Anyone have one of these or have experience with Kawasaki tools?

Edit: I bought this mainly for the saws. I have a couple of drills alread.

I believe my Dad has some stuff from Kawasaki. I'm not sure though.

And will these be used for the renovations, or are those already completed?

I have the 5-piece set from Sears. (#00911445000)

I think the Sears and the Kawasaki are very similar. Both are 19.2V and come with 2 batteries and an 1-hour charger.

Good for light duty job.

I use manly the Fluorescent Light (as a flash light) in my house every day. ;-) One time I dropped the light on the driveway when I was using it on a ladder (maybe 6-7 feet up). The battery came flying all over when it hit the ground. I thought crap! But nothing happened to it. I put the battery back and the thing kept ticking. The thing was built like a tank.

great price! The only thing I have run into with lower priced drills is some of them have bad chucks. I.E. the drill bit will slip and not hold well. If you don't run into that problem I'd say you're OK.

Isn't the green series lithium batteries? If so that rocks!

I'm not sure if I should thank you.

They will be used for the renovations, though I decided that much of the renovations will be contracted out. I just don't have the time to do all the things that need to get done before putting the place on the market. If all goes well, the countertops and tiles will be installed by the end of the year.

SiGGy - not too concerned with the drill, as I have another one that works great.

bz - thanks for the info on the recalls. I'll have to compare model and serial numbers.

I just checked and they are Nickel Cadmium. Still, if it lasts for a couple of improvements, it will be worth it.

I bought the Kawasaki Kit from Costco, minus the saw late last year and didn't have much luck with it. A few drill bit pieces broke too easily and I returned it.

^^ You took it back because the cheap included drill bits broke?

Well, I used the saws a bit this weekend and they worked alright considering the price. They definitely aren't high quality and probably won't last too long. The main this that sucked was the safety on both saws. It made starting some cuts really awkward, especially with the circular saw when you want to "drop" the blade into a cut and need to pull the blade cover back.

I'll be using them just a little more and will decide if they are worth keeping or if they go back to Costco.
