Done.
After we got done with closing we went back to the house. Changed the locks. Took over a trip of boxes. Took the ugly wall paper off the hallway and staircase. Looks like the back splash will be a bitch to get off. We may need to take the dry wall off.

Update Pics
So, we started making trips over to the new house with boxes and small stuff. We also started some painting and work on the back splash. Initially the wife wanted to repaint the cabinets as well and we still may, but for now we are changing the back splash and we will start saving for new cabinets.
Here are some update pics....

Looks fantastic Ravi. Glad I keep checkin on this thread. You said those hardwood floors are in really good shape. I have to disagree. THEY'RE IN GREAT SHAPE! I actually thought they were new.
Seriously. I though it was part of the reno.
Props to the last owners. You can tell the home was very well taken care of, plus im also guessing that this home is better built than some of the newer ones that are just a few years old. It definitely looks well built. Good work. Can't wait to see the improvements you guys have in store for the house.
Thanks for sharing!

Truth be told we really do not have any reno to do. The backsplash was mainly personal preference. Other than that it's just paint.
I stayed over there last night until about 9:30 watering plants and the grass. Most of the lawn is shaded so it's in really good shape even with about 10 straight 90+ days with hardly any rain. Some of the plants were getting a bit dry. Some we really don't care about, but we want to keep a lot of them. WE NEED RAIN.

Sums it up for me: This home doesn't need any work really other than cosmetic (backsplash) and that's pretty much it. Definitely a nice yard too btw.

Here is the after shots of the back splash. I still need to grout. I'll do that on Friday.

We are still torn on what to do with the cabinets. We are debating painting them white down the road. For now we are going to change the electrical outlets and all the cabinet hardware.
