Ideas for Balcony net thingy

I found this neato sliding glass door insert for my new condo that allows the cats to go in and out. Im hoping to get the balcony safe enough so I can keep the litter box outside

The thing I must consider is the association. Ive already found very transparent mesh I can hang from top to the railing to keep them from jumping on that.

Im stumped about a more sturdy material to place in between the bars of the railing. They sell this which would be perfect http://cgi.ebay.com/FIRST-ALERT-10-B...QQcmdZViewItem except for the fact that it looks a little TOO obvious. As of yet theres no mesh allowed on the balcony (yet).

I was actually thinking about getting a vinyl shower curtain and wrapping it around the bars.

Any ideas?

Before you go and buy anything, read your condo bylaws first. Some are very anal about stuff like this.

If they atleast have it in black it wouldn't be so noticeable as the white in the picture. Also, wouldn't your cat just climb the net? Lastly, cats have 9 lives. So it wastes one of them falling off the balcony. Guaranteed it will never do it again.

If you close in your balcony from the top and sides to prevent the cats from jumping up and over the railing, are you not planning on using the balcony at all yourself?

Heres what I was thinking
_____ <--- roof
:
\: <---open space
I:
I] <--- balcony
I]__
The "I" and "\" would be the screen. Basically place the screen right behind the poles (so you couldnt see it from the ground) then attach the screen on the corners to the wall on either side, creating a lip that would keep them from jumping.

The only thing Im using the balcony for is sitting outside once in a while.

Im actually considering scratching the idea for a few reasons:

1) Id die if my cats did
2) With hurricane season coming up the litter box would get soaked often.
