Glass chair mat . . .

Tempered glass is tempered glass, right? Just had $$$$$ new carpet installed in the house and want to protect it from the office chair. Local glass shop is 1/2 the cost of online sellers and it will have a 3" corner radius instead of a 1" corner radius. Tempered glass is tempered glass, right? Am I missing something except a large online markup?

Assuming the thickness is the same, I honestly don't see a difference.

shipping is probably very expensive! Just be sure that the glass is meant to hold weight like from an office chair and not meant for a table or something with little weight.

Yes. Purchased a 48"x60" piece of TEMPERED glass for the chair two weeks ago for $118. I weigh 260 and it is a large office chair and it has not broken yet. Looks really nice in the office!

Wow, that is awesome. I always hated the look off a mat on the wood floor but I didn't know what else to do without killing the floor. I wonder if I can work something out to do this on a wood floor, maybe non slip feet or something under it.

Just remember, get TEMPERED glass from your local glass shop. Much less $$$ and you support a local business too.
