Garage sale find & Restore

Just so happens my neighbor was getting rid of some stuff he had in storage, He had a rusty old cast-iron drill-press and i instantly saw some potential.

So after dismantling it, hitting it with drill with a wire-brush and a lot of carb-cleaner, it was time for some paint and grease. oh and i rewired it (+ground) ended up working seamlessly!!!!!!!!!!

So Drill-press $30 + carb-cleaner & paint i had left over + free wire from work=

Craftsman press, 1-1/8 hp General Electric Motor

I dare you to walk into a Sears with that PDF and ask if you can order some parts. I'd love to see the look on the employees face.

Damn $1.55 purchase, some years of use, resell 70 years later, profit!

Seriously that's a nice item and you will have something to talk about with your buddies for a long time. Good luck with it.

Wow, what an amazing find! And it looks great after some really minor restoration. Great work! Looks like it should give you 72 more years of service!

It wasn't $1.55 for the drill, it was $1.55 for the parts:

Spindle Pulley $1.25
Quill sleeve $0.30
Total: $1.55

Drill looks great BTW, nice job!
