Just as the title says, does anyone know a good way, short of removing the section of siding to find out where the studs are under vinyl siding? I tried using a stud finder, but that wasn't working so hot since the siding doesn't actually sit right on the wood underneath it. Anyone come across any good tricks?

on a morning where there is dew out, sometimes you can see the outline of the studs on the siding. but maybe that is on poorly insulated houses. there are a couple around here that i can see.
