Depending on the area, it would take a long time. Consider renting a larger tiller or sod cutter.

You need to be careful when tilling, you can screw up the grade of your lot and no longer have proper drainage. A sod cutter may be a better choice.

What exactly do you want to do? You say weed/grass removal. Does this mean you want to remove an area, and reseed/resod? If so, you're better off renting a sod cutter to do the work. Tilling weeds and unwanted grasses will only move the seeds down into the dirt where they'll regerminate over time.

You're better off killing the area off with a non-selective chemical like Round-Up, cutting the area out, reseeding/resod and fertilizing.

But I guess it all depends on what exactly you're trying to do...

I've used one of those on my weedwacker, and it's good for tilling up 2-3 inches of soil, but I wouldn't use it for cutting up a lawn

When I expanded my flower bed, I removed the sod by hand, and used a similar tiller to turn over the soil. Since I only was doing a 3x12 section, it wasn't that bad, but if I was going to do a larger section, I'd would have rented out some heavier equiptment.

Round-Up will KILL EVERYTHING. Be sure it does not get on anything you want to keep. It does not care what it touches!

I would not recommend it. It can be spread by wind, etc... Anything it comes in contact with is toast.

i have a MAJOR beef with monsano. it's a long complicated farm issue so I won't get into it.
I personally like a spray called Touchdown. it's basically like Roundup but it isn't roundup. kind of like coke vs pepsi.
