Couple of basic floor selection questions
Couple of basic floor selection questions
1)What kind of floor do you guys prefer in the kitchen? Wood, tile, linoleum, etc.?
2)If you answered wood, if you have two rooms that are joined by a doorway (kitchen/dining room) should you have the same type/shade of wood in both rooms?
The house I am buying has a hardwood floor in the dining room, and 36 year old ceramic tile in the kitchen that has been beat to piss. It needs to be replaced.

Go with tile in the kitchen. Make sure it goes well with wood cabinets if you have them or are thinking about getting new ones.
Wood in a kitchen looks nice & is durable~Traffic-wise~, but, but, but...if you spill things on a regular basis, have messy kids, dogs...wood is not a great investment.
