bedroom?

We went with a sage green for our bedroom. It turned out very nice.

You can also pick a really WILD color and do an accent wall. Like paint the wall the head of your bed will be on a something very loud. and keep the rest of the walls white/neutral.

I did this for the office. Made one wall a "cajun red" and left the others white. turned out great and everyone loves it.

I don't think a bedroom needs to be painted in neutrals (only whites, taupes, off-whites, etc), but I do think it should be a calming and soothing tone --- no reason why that can't be a colour. If you choose something very loud or stimulating, you might have a harder time calming down or falling asleep. I'd go with something soft and relaxing to help set the mood for sleep.

What colour is the flooring and furniture? Any particular bedding you are absolutely set on using, or will you choose something to compliment the room after you paint?

Agree on the soothing psychological effect.

The carpet is very light(beige), and heres a pic of he new bed, which will have a matching nightstand. No other furniture, just a plasma on a swing arm.

my first idea i had was leaning toward this, the PRELUDE

That's a nice blue - I'm looking at something similar for one of my bathrooms.

Will you be painting the ceiling and trim white to brighten things up a bit?

"Prelude" would be good if the ceiling and trim are painted white. Otherwise, "Frost" (maybe with Yankee pinstripes on one wall? )
Our master bedroom has sage green walls, like Sarlacc suggested, with gloss white ceilings, crown moldings, doors and door trim-- looks good.
