Yeah, that is my problem with my bushes so close to the house I can't get the bottom any closer than like 8ft to the house.

I do the roof walk twice a year to get the pine needles off my roof and that is on a lower section. But fuck climbing the top section. That said New Balance FreshFoam bottom shoes work really well on the roof this year compared to things I have had on when I got up past times.

The only 'low' part of my roof is in the back where the solar is. Otherwise, it's all 20' high.

I asked Casey if she was happy with the outdoor decorations this year and she said "they look fine, you wanted to do them anyway"

Long time, no update.

We finished up decorating the nursery just in time for the baby to get here, and that's pretty much it. I haven't had time to do anything around the house, even though there's a long list of things. I'm not sure why the quality of the photos is so crappy, but w/e.

I'm hoping to get a shed in the next month or two so I can move all of my yard and woodworking tools out of the garage. I'd prefer to build it myself, but time to myself is pretty much nonexistent these days. After that, it's building a deck, firepit area, and some landscaping in the backyard. That might get done in the next 5 years

Those are similar, but I got mine from Hive Posters on Etsy. They come New Zealand, so it takes some time to show up, but the quality is great. I've got a few others that are framed, I just need to find a spot for them.

yeah dude,
that room is a gorgeous.
it's so nice I probably wouldn't sleep if it was mine.
Probably just sit there and look at all the cool shit and
maybe cry when I have to poo or eat. Seriously, nice work.

Also, most people don't discuss, right?
But the first few weeks/months suck.
Of course you love the kid inherently...but lack of sleep
and immediately having to crash course in YOU and what
you feel like doing (work on cars, sleep, fuck) not being a priority
is HARD.

At that point you haven't bonded yet...there's something keeping you
from normal selfish prebaby life and all you get is crying and crapping.

But I promise you as you form that bond...and you start getting those smiles
and her specific reaction to YOU...Daddy...it'll all be worth it and then it only
gets better from there. No lie. You'll see.

I think that's something that definitely needs to be normalized. It's not just mothers that suffer from postpartum depression - fathers get it too. Lack of sleep amplifies it.

a million percent...
nobody admits to it or talks about it because they
are afraid of what people will think.
Don't be afraid to ask for help. Even if it's
just an in law or whatever for ONE full night's sleep.
It'll make all the difference.

Lol, first time parents...

You can't grab the whole bottle. You just discreetly pour it in your coffee cup. Coffee optional.

There is no amount of preparation that will get you ready for the first month...it literally hits you like a heap of bricks.

Yes, be smart enough to admit you need help and take it when offered. If your Mom or your First Lady's Mom wants to help, yes, please welcome it. Take naps when you can because you will be unbelievably tired as the late evenings start to add up. Be there for your wife as she has alot on her esp. if she's going to be nursing your newborn. Good luck, M. But seriously, that room is just stellar.

Nursery looks amazing. Great work.
BIggest thing that helped us was being OCD diligent with their sleep schedules. They need that consistency in order to build a schedule in their brains. Don't give in to the "oh let them just sleep in our bed". We have a friend whose kids ended up spending years not being able to sleep in their own rooms.

So much this. We're still in the thick of it but hopefully on the upslope at this point as the little one turns 6 months next week. The amount of changes that have happened in the past 6 months is unbelievable. She has gone from this tiny nearly inanimate doll to a real mini person with a personality that you can interact with. Though I'm not certain I want to do this again, leaning towards no lol, it is pretty awesome to see them grow up.

I was (am?) too tired to drink all that much at this point... Not really trying to drown my sorrows either.

This. We read the Babywise book and they said just the same thing that we have followed as much as humanly possible. Long story short, keep them on an ironclad schedule (as much as possible), always put them down for a nap drowsy but awake, and always follow a wake, eat, active, sleep schedule so that they never connect food with sleep. I attribute that to why she's able to consistently sleep for 5-6 hour stretches no problem and has been for a while...aside from the dreaded 4 month regression time.

It's a George Soros funded conspiracy with Hillary and The Hollywood Elite™ to provide more "inventory" to traffic through neighborhood pizza joints. Don't worry though, Poppa Trump has a plan, just you wait and see.
