Chain Link Fence Idea
I have a small dog that keeps digging an hole and getting out of a chain linked fence. Of course I can put blocks in the way as the holes develop, but I thought of an idea.
Would a metal wiring system work that could clip to the bottom of the fence, slide down continuously as the dog digs with a with a row of straight wire points going perpendicular to the ground and another row that bends upward like a "J" to the inside of the fence.
That way if the dog starts digging, it will first be about 3 inches away from the fence, and as it digs the wire rig will drop to the surface requiring more digging. Then if it can squeeze under the J wire, it would have to negotiate with the perpendicular straight wire.

Shooting a pistol into the air won't stop him?

I just did a flagstone edging butting up to the fence, so it was a decorative path and moved the digging out 18-24"from the fence.
On larger yards, I have driven rebar in every 6-12" (about an 8-12" length)-it amounts to a fence under the fence.
