In order to keep the house from suffer of toy clutter, once a year, toys are collected and giving to one of the local charity houses. And with that, there's still clutter...

Elliott gets toys every time we go to his grand parents because he has a cousin a year older. Elliott gets the hand-me-downs. We're starting to pack the ones he out grows in boxes for my sister. But yeh....a lot of clutter.

Sorry, I meant how you were going to do the drawer faces (face-frame or inset).

I've got half a 2 car garage filled with ride-on toys and other stuff my kids have outgrown. Most are in near new condition.

We're planning a yard sale in a month or two and we told the kids any money we make we'll split up amongst the three of them and then we'll go on a shopping spree at T.R.U.

nice work ravi, nice to see the finished product, I like how it ties in with the 2 smaller box shelves and how you made it all look like 1 piece, very cool

Now make me a fishtank stand

Ahhh...I see. That was the easiest way to do the drawers and also the most forgiving.

A little off-topic, but another good outlet to rid yourself of old baby/children's stuff besides a yard sale is to post it via the local Mom & New Mom groups in your area. Lots of people are more than willing and are looking to purchase intermittent baby items this way and you'll probably make a bit more than from a yard sale. Can also try a gently-used store, but they will take a cut. By using these three outlets, you are sure to get rid of just about everything you want to get rid of.

And I :chuckled: a little at wanting to get rid of the mound of toys, only to take the kids to the store to get more with the profits.

Nice work, Ravi. Is this the first things you've ever built?

Thanks. Not really. I worked on a lot of car stereos back in my youth. Those were just as complicated. This is the first thing I made from scratch for Elliott though.

What size tank do you have? I can't wait to get a place where I can actually get an tank again. I all but gave the old one away when Elliott was born because I knew I would come home and find glass and water all over the place with a metal car sitting in the back and a little devil saying "I didn't do it."

Yeah I'm terrified of my dogs knocking over a tank, or the rubber ball bouncing and shattering one

I have 4 tanks running currently, 125 Gallon, 55 Gallon, 29 Gallon, and 20 Gallon Long.

The stand I ended up getting for the 55 is good for up to an 80 gallon so I plan to get a 75 for that at some point, but I need to quit dumping money on fish tanks for a while. I got that stand to house my 2 huge ass canister filters for the 125 and the 55.

Nice collection.

I had a 29 Gallon and a 46 Gallon Bow Face tank. I gave away the 29 gallon when I moved out of my apartment to a neighbor that helped me pack up the truck. I was planning on junking it. No place in the condo we were moving into.

The 46 Gallon was sold with the stand, pump, filter, rocks, etc for $100 just before Elliott turned 1.

I now own a 6 gallon tank that sits in Elliott's room collecting algae and housing a single beta fish named Ketchup. Wanna guess who named him?

Once we buy a house I will probably get another tank. Maybe 55-80 Gallons. It can be a lot of work, but I always liked having a fish tank.

Ton of work, and decent money investment up front, but once you get everything into cycles and a rotation, it's really easy to maintain. I do water changes once a week, and change my filters at the begining of every month. And I enjoy the hell out of it, although the fish tanks did take time and money away from my car hobby, but shit happens.
