Before and After Kitchen Remodel

It has been awhile since I have looked at the photos. It took our contractor just under 3 months to pull this off.

VERY impressive!

Only thing that looks out of place is that small desk in front of the window in the first renovation pic. I love the layout, looks very clean.

Wow. That is amazing and encouraging. Details ... how much... how long... etc?

I'm deep in the midst of a total kitchen remodel myself.

Oh and I like the leters on the range hood... adds a playful/homey feel to an otherwise very modern kitchen.

More pictures can be seen at pbase.com/msnowdon

It is a real hardwood floor.

My budget was 75K, came in closer to 85K.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Beautiful kitchen!!!

Question: Is there a kitchen table/dinning table with the new design? I see one in the old kitchen, but that has been replaced by the island. Do you have to eat all meals at the island now?

Very nice.

I think I would have gone insane with a remodeling project going on in my house for 3 months though.

Was the kitchen unusable during that time? How did you eat?

There is a kitchen table, you just don't see it in the new pictures.

We set up a living space in the garage, and used the hose for running water.

The in-progress pics aren't showing up anymore?
If you look at the pics in the link Msnowdon posted I think you'll see why it was 85k. I was also suprised at first but that's a lot of work that was done.
The pics show the wall was structural, not just there to divide a space, so they had to replace it with a big ass wood beam. This type of thing surely involved an architect/engineer to figure out how to balance the load the wall had - which means $$$. Plus I'm sure they probably had to bring in electricians, plumbers, etc. Plus what, $20-30k in cabinets + granite? It adds up fast!

85k doesn't sound outrageous to me.

I've nearly spent 5k doing demolition, prep, building a bit of structural.

Those are top of the line appliances, probably 20k worth factoring sink/faucets. Then you've $10k floor. $10k in granite. Windows, plumbing, blah, blah, blah... then you've still gotta pay someone for the work (I doubt it was entirely DIY)... 85k is fairly reasonable for what's been done here I think.

... and I didn't even mention cabinets, the tile backsplash, or the new door... yeah... 85k goes pretty quick.

I wish, we had lots of structural moving of load bearing walls, and doors.

you can get a new kitchen for far less than that but i don't doubt that's what he paid considering he went high end on everything. that number just surprised me. the amount you spend depends on the house too. an 85k kitchen wouldn't make sense in my house considering its nearly a third the value of my home and i wouldn't get it back when i sell in 4 years.

anyway awesome kitchen.

Very nice kitchen. We did ours about a year ago and it was hard without a kitchen for almost 2 months, especially with a 3 month old at that time. Here are some pictures, hope it works. If not, I'll try to host them somewhere else.

Before:

After:

It is not as nice as the OP's but we are very happy with it. Also, the door is now painted white and I changed the door frame to the fluted kind.
