Anybody know anything about oil fired furnaces?
I just got a quote for a Regal oil fired furnace, model REH 750. $2650 installed.
85% efficiency 95K BTU output.
He wouldn't negotiate in price. Anybody else have any info on heaters and what I should be looking for?
Thanks in advance

I'm getting a quote next week from my oil guy... Said he'll send me a brochure and a written estimate. Once I get the paperwork, I'll probably be doing some more research...
I forget what brand he uses (it's american made), but I'm thinking the price will be about what you got quoted (my guy ballparked it at under 3K). He was here yesterday to service the oil (circa 1965) boiler.
I've got a separate stand alone water tank, and will be using the existing plumbing into the baseboards. I've got 2 zone valves that he's gonna clean up the plumbing on too.
I made some comments in this thread that prompted my decision to look into replacing my boiler here:

Got my quote for $2800 installed. It's a Dunkirk (out of NY) oil boiler. Beckett oil burner, but the Carlin or Riello are optional... 92K, 85% efficiency.
Probably gonna set up the install before it starts getting cold.
