Not a fan of any of the gold/brass/rose gold trim
Neighbor had it in their house & doesn't work for me.
Black or brushed alum would be how I'd lean.

That's another part of it. I priced out changing all of the handles & pulls on our old house & was floored by the cost to do it.
I really like the hardware we have, simple & rustic, pretty much in theme with how we're wanting to style the house, without going full Gaines/Magnolia.

Make sure you tell your wife that a bunch of strangers on the internet hate her paint choice.

In other news, signed everything for the pool on Monday.
Builder is going to come by on Monday to check the ground moisture with all the rain we've had, said permits should be done mid-month, then we can get rolling with destroying the yard to dig a big hole.

Got a lot done on the house over the weekend.
Lots of boxes unpack & some moved into the attic. Almost have my office ready to set up.
Got the youngest a real bed, bit of an adjustment for her. Wife was worried she was going to flip out of her crib.

How old is your youngest? We are teetering on the real bed situation but are trying to keep her in the crib as long as possible. Mostly for our own sanity.

Sam, she's 2.5 yrs. We'd have kept her in it longer, but she's pretty tall, and standing she was almost stomach height to the side of the crib.
We put a wobble knob on the inside of the door, so she isn't wandering the house if she gets up in the middle of the night. Luckily, we don't have a 2 story anymore.
J, birthday suit party is on!

For the wobbly knobs...that's great unless you decided to pick the lever handles in your house because they look way better than the knobs and then realized afterwards that they are the opposite of kid proof. I can neither confirm nor deny this happening in my house, just know that I may have to explore other solutions.

Yeah, our whole house is tile, so she was pretty worried about her falling over the edge of the crib.
Not sure if this style would work on the 'blind' side of the door

That, or you swap in a round knob on the inside of her room & use a wobble until she's ready, then swap the lever back on.

Whats up with RDX owners?

My 2 year old has been opening doors with the round handles for the last 1-2 months The only thing that saves us in most cases is...she's short If she has boots on though, she goes everywhere.

Apart from exterior doors, luckily, ours is the same, except she has no problem reaching the handles. To the dismay of the older 2, at times.
Luckily, too, our back patio door is tight to open/close, so she won't be able to easily go that way. The pool will 100% be getting a safety fence, at least for the next few years. Our older 2 took to water like fish pretty quickly, but they were 6 & 4 when we moved into that house.

We've got a sliding door that she can't open, and the other exterior doors are usually locked, so we're safe...for now.

Yeah, ours are all locked too.
We had a high-mounted mechanical latch on the front door at our old house & a keyed deadbolt on the back door.
The door to frame space on the front door of our current house is too tight for the latch, and the shape of the casing makes it have a gap.

We've always narrated everything for her (which we attribute to why she talks so well) but she's started to do the same thing and narrates her whole life. So if she's going to open a door, she announces it lol.

Excavation for the pool due to start Monday or Tuesday if the ground has dried up enough. Supposed to get some rain tonight, so we're putting a massive plastic sheet over the yard to keep it from soaking up too much.
Builder coming by today to dig a test hole & see how it looks. He came by yesterday with the final city permit engineer to look things over & dug a test hole that had a bit of seepage, but said it looks ok.
Repositioned the pool a bit, to push it a bit further from the patio. Due to the slope of our yard, he thought it would be too steep [2in over 5 ft] of a transition. He'd prefer 1/2in over 5 ft.
We'll look online this week to make final decision on pebbletec & flagstone colors.

Did they dig all that with a bobcat and hand shovels????

Yup. The cat driver was quite adept at it & it was exactly the right size to squeeze between the trees at the far side of the pool.
Final after they'd finished with the digging.
And the only real casualty of the day, 1 broken water pipe, which pannes to feed the sprinkler system & guest house/poolhouse.
Capped it for now, but will have to fix it this weekend/next week as we're having people in town using the guest house.

Had to shoot a layer of gunite on Friday, ground is still pretty moist & we had bits trying to slough off the sides.
Rebar went in Saturday, stub plumbing being done today & full gunite scheduled for tomorrow.
Gunite to slow the moisture leeching out
Rebar done by mid-Saturday

Stub plumbing & gunite are done.
Stub was done on Monday, gunite yesterday
Have to water the pool 3x/day for5 days to slow the dry/cure of the gunite so it doesn't crack
