OK, the last topic got a little long again. Here's the link for your reference... https://acurazine.com/forums/home-garden-37/%2A%2A-pool-update-%2A%2A-new-pics-added-5-1-pg-4-a-334528/ .
We are pretty much done. The only thing we have left is the lighting on the columns and low voltage lighting for under the deck, around the steps, and the pergola. We also need to get the lions hooked up to the stubbed up pipes, but hey, at least they're out there now
Anyway... enjoy!!
Pergola painted and stained (we'll straighten the columns tomorrow since I need my neighbors help)...
Decks stained....
Pool from the back gate (you can see the day lillies starting to pop)...
View from the side/corner...
Stone to the rear gate (we're getting some pots that will be fountains where that terra cotta pot is now)...
Closeup of the urn my wife planted in now that it's starting to bloom...

Thanks again for the replies guys.
I must say it's nice to see everything come together. Especially everything in the backyard since we pretty much designed it all. And it's finally nice to be able to start enjoying it instead of being out there planting every weekend. The stain should dry by tomorrow so we can put our patio furniture back out and just start relaxing.
Oh, and the glazed pots I mentioned above... just picked them up this afternoon... so that will be tomorrow's project. More digging ahead (need to dig for the basin). If I don't pass out this weekend (gonna be in the 90's), I should have pics by Monday

Which ones are you talking about? The waterfalls on the raised wall or the stubbed pipes next to the lions??

Looks great JB... good to hear you're almost done and can start enjoying it now...
I wanna know about the stubbed pipes next to the lions now tho' Are the lions going to be "spitting water" into the pool ??

What are the lions guarding/sitting on? Holes with pipes sticking out?

I like it JB. You did a great job of connecting everything together. I love the different heights around the pool as well. It adds great dimension. The landscaping is also arranged very nicely......Jealous that you can plan all of this....I cannot even figure out where I want to extend my patio too...
One thing I would change (if it were my pool, which I know it isn't) and I know I am probably on an island by myself......I do not care that mush for lions. I think it obstructs the serenity........

Hey, thanks for the replies all... just catching up on the questions here as I wasn't online all weekend....
Ahh, OK, I thought that's what you were talking about. They are both functional and asthetic. They are part of the filter system, so they are recirulating water from the filter the same as the other jets in the pool... and they look cool too
LOL... not that rich at all. Just have made good decisions, then moved from NY to Charlotte, NC last year, and put all of the money we made on our house in NY to good use down here
Yes, the lions are plumbed as fountains, so they will be "spitting" into the pool once they are hooked up. We're having a tough time finding a plumber to do the work. It also looks like we're going to have to build a base to make sure there's enough space for couplers and tubes... so it may be a while before they're actually spitting...
Those pipes were stubbed by the pool builder when we built everything. Eventually the lions will cover those holes and they'll be hooked up as fountains... so all you will see will be the lions.
Surprisingly, the lions balance everything out. There is a lot of character on the top half of the pool (raised wall, rock faced steps, waterfalls, pergola), but not much action on the lower half of the pool. The lions bring some character to that area of the pool and they break up the cement patio look. Additionally, once they are hooked up they will spit water. So there will be the two waterfalls off of the raised wall and the two lions below, which means the water features will be in perfect symmetry and will balance out both ends of the pool
We love it! It was nice to enjoy it this weekend. Spent some time in there pretty much every day since Thursday, and we had a nice big BBQ Sunday with about 30 people (neighbors and their kids). We had a blast. FYI, I responded to your PM with some info for you

And the good news is that it's supposed to cool off to the lower 80's later this week (been 90-94 every day for a week now), with upper 50's and low 60's at night... so I'm hoping I'll be able to get the grass seed down on the rest of the yard. Bad news b/c the pool water will cool down, but I can't wait to get rid of all of the dirt/clay in the yard... so if a few cool days means less swimming but more grass.. I'm all for it.
