What would you guys recommend for someone who has never taken any supplements.
I work out four times a week both weights and cardio. My goal is really to trim up and just look more fit maybe a little more defined. I have recently started getting up early to workout and find some mornings I just don't have as much intensity for lack of a better term, maybe focus would be better. I lift for 50 min to a little over an hour then I usually do 30 minutes on the eliptical. I also just recently added three days a week doing some sprints after work.
For a better idea, I am a very broad shoulder or wide guy. I am 6' 215 36" waist and a 46" suit jacket.
Thanks for any advice.

I don't really follow a strict diet, I try and eat healthy during the week. Usually a lot of chicken grilled or rotissere and Turkey, Bannas, apples Carrots. I usually eat granola bar or cereal for breakfast with some orange juice and a Diet Soda(Coffee to me). I also do soup or salads for lunch, lately a lot of Chicken Tortilla soup at Panera. I maybe eat a turkey sandwich or pick of a chicken at night two nights and often just a handful of mixed nuts in the evening, Two or three nights a week I don't really eat at night. I should also mention, I drink a ton of water. I would guess 1.5 gallons a day on average. I have always been a heavy liquid consumer but have tried to switch from all kinds of liquids to mostly water.
On the weekends I am not as healthy, I drink some beers and go out with friends some times eat Burgers but usually not the top bun (not that I think that matters) and often Chicken Wings a big Weakness.
I am not a good dieter never have been, I prefer to just try and exercise more. I also usually either skate or play ball on the weekends.
I switched from Evening workouts to Mornings about two weeks ago, but have not really changed much else.
Oh, also I don't eat Eggs at all which I know is a staple for most people but I cannot eat them.

The food you are eating sound perfectly fine, but watch out for portion control and frequency. Even though it is a good idea to cut food intake during night time, but I'd recommend drinking some kind of protein shake ~1 hour before bedtime, so that your body doesn't start burning your muscle for energy. Cut the Diet Soda, if you need caffine, try drinking green tea instead ( really good fat burner too, so a win/win situation).

Def cut out the diet soda.
Now we need to know a bit more about the types of workout you're doing. What tpy eof program? Sets? Reps? How heavy?
As far as a supplement, try Glutamine for now. i love the stuff. What it will do for you is basically help your body burn fat down and not burn down the muscle. Since your not looking to bulk this will help with your staying lean.

If you've switched to working out in mornings but aren't eating after dinner, that is a long time to go without food. Body might just need some time to get used to working out after waking up too.
I personally don't like taking pre-workout supplements in the morning as I find it dehydrates me much faster despite drinking alot of water throughout the day but to each his own.

Drink a glass of chocolate milk 20-30 minutes before you start lifting. Don't buy any crap that you might see advertised in M&F. You'll notice a difference in strength, stamina.
- Do you periodize your lifting? That is, change it up every few weeks. Introduce new movements. Switch between high reps at lower weight and low reps at high weight. Focus on compound movements. Introduce oly lifts if you aren't doing them already. Cut down on rest periods - keep your HR as high as possible.
- If you're doing steady stuff for your 30 mins on the elliptical, change it to 20 minutes of HIIT - you can do this on the elliptical as well.
Drink another glass of chocolate milk asap after you workout, then watch your carb intake the rest of the day, e.g., lose the bottom bun on your burger and skip the ketchup.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying all supplements are crap. In fact, if you can't eat a well balanced diet of whole foods, then you may get some value from supplementation with whey, creatine, fish oil, and a multivitamin. Anything beyond that is a waste of money.
The adverts in mags like M&F push the crappola needle past the red line. Jay Cutler didn't get where he is today by downing Muscletech products. He did it the traditional way: 'roids.
Finally, good old chocolate milk is widely regarded as a useful nutrient timing component, and it's a lot cheaper than the crap you'll find at your local GNC.

Sure. Here's something that expounds on why NO2 supplements are crap, as an example.

I thought you were referring to things like protein, creatine, and glutamine as crap. Those are the staples of my supplements. Sure you can get them from food, but not at the dosage I'm looking for, I don't eat that much.

I'm currently taking megamen multi's, sesamin, and Acetyl L-carnitine, and drink green tea throughout the day. I use camphibolic in the morning, pre workout and before I sleep, nothing too intense, just using up the supps I have left for now. 4-5 years back I used to experiment with certain ephedra fat burners like stackers, xenadrine, lipo6, etc. I'm currently browsing for something a bit more intense and I've been reading about supplements call DCP (damage control protocol) and Leviathin and stacking the two together.
I was wondering if anyone here was taking this specific mix and have also used previous ephedra supps and wanted to get an idea of comparison. stackers I definitely loved and want something similar to that. I tried my own homemade eca stack, but still not the same. Thanks and if this is inappropriate for mentioning ephedra, please accept my apologies and delete.

It's nice that you take the time and follow me around commenting on my GN. I appreciate it.
If you knew what you were doing and/or had will power, clen would be completely useless. The fact that you need it shows you have your head up your ass.

LOL - I can totally see that happening! That's why I tend to only use it for short periods when I feel undermotivated or plateaued....

if you're redbull / coffee drinker, consider yourself at risk of abusing NOX. oh, and pregaming with NOX could save you a couple bucks at the bars, b/c alcohol becomes twice as effective.

I was running late after a 12 mile run so I literally ran to my room, no shower, changed clothes, and went out and met some friends at a bar around the corner. Heart rate was still elevated. The first beer nearly knocked me on my ass.

Anyone with a sensitive stomach use these products?
I stay away from creatine unless I'm training really hard. The way I look at it is it makes me feel terrible so I'm less likely to work out when I'm on it.
Whey does the same. I get my post workout protein from whey once in a while but mostly from beef liver pills.
I even tried turinabol once to prove how sensitive I am to any suppliment and I got a nose bleed, stomach ache, and I wanted to kill everyone lol. My ears were ringing and I couldn't sleep that night.
Same with anavar, tried one pill one time and got a terrible stomach ache.

1.Whey Protein in the morning right when I wake up.
2.Flax seed oil 1000mg, omega 3 (perscription levasa) for my high cholesterol, CLA (for weight loss), Multi vitamin. Bsically what was listed is more vitamin type of stuff (except for CLA)
3. Pre workout - 45 min before - slam 8 oz. water with NOS blast (nitric oxcide) and maybe a caffeine type pill or 2 depending how late it is
4. Post workout - 3 scoops whey protein, 1 scoop casein protein (slow absorbing)
5. Pre bed time - 1 to 1 1/2 scoop casein protein for slow absorbtion while I sleep.
Creatine only on workout days but right now I am in the middle of cycling off.
Workout with weights in gym 3 day a week (MWF). Seeing results ( I need to do abs though)
My GF is in the medical field and we do watch and test my kidney functions every 3 months. No problems yet. 5'7" 173 ish.

Good thread guys. I'm taking Superpump 250/NO-Xplode right now and it's enough for me and I only take HALF-3/4 scoop in my water bottle pre workout. That NO Shotgun looks scary with Redline that stuff will keep me up for sure. I also take Plasmajet twice a week...5 caps which is half the recommended dosage pre workout. Any other recommendations for just purely NO stuff? No creatine. I'm trying to get lean/no bloating.

i put:
