I've read the using gloves can even decrease grip strength, which kind of makes since. With gloves you don't have to squeeze the bar as hard.

Nay. They hurt your grip strength, and chicks dig rough hands, even if they say otherwise

I dunno I feel like a girly man if I have soft hands, like I shook this guys hands and it felt like a woman...kinda freaked out, kinda like a dude wearing a dress.

nay.
calluses are enough padding for my hands. I do use straps though for some of the weights because my fingers give out on really heavy weights (when I use dumbells that weigh more together than I do) and I don't want to accidentally drop one if someone is nearby.

on to the next one...
I don't use them, but I say yay because my hands sweat so damn much, I can feel my hands sliding down the bar when I lift.
The place I use to go had chalk, which did the trick, but my new place does not...

IMO-
I would rather have rough hands fondeling me-than hands that are softer than mine. That would freak me out. Ixnay on the glovays.
I want a MAN- not some metrosexual :gheylaugh:
I dont wear gloves when I work out. Dont like them. My hands can get a little calloused (spelling?) but not bad. I just take care of them

Lifting Straps>*
They give you a better workout because they allow you to lift heavier weight that muscles can handle but your fingers can't. Ex.- Try doing shrugs without straps, then try with and tell me your shoulders are not getting a better workout with them

Stay or leave
only time I have ever needed wraps was when I used to do heavy dead lifts. Otherwise, I guess I have a strong grip cause I don't need wraps for anything, including heavy pulldowns.
