If you get a Swiss ball for <$20....you can do a lot of core work and body weight work.

You can buy bands at most gym stores (like those from SPRI) and you can do a lot of resistance training for minimal cost and in minimal space.

push ups are one of the best things you can do for your chest... and triceps... planting your hands wider will isolate more on the chest... or tuck your elbows to your sides... and hit the triceps more... (I think it's call military push ups, but not sure)

+1

I do different variations of push-ups when I can't get to the gym. I use nautilis weights that I can vary the weight with a swiss ball for flys. Swiss ball for abs. I have power bands to help recondition my rotator cuff.

check out www.rosstraining.com he's a boxing trainer that advocates a lot of resistance and high-intensity workouts without the need for heavy weights and a lot of equipment.

he has a book called never gymless that has a whole slew of different unconventional workouts that work on strengthening your core, body as whole, and developing ur muscles to aid in explosive movements.

his workouts are things generally geared to those working on combat training.

thanks that was really helpful. He looks like he has some good ideas. Except for that video where he was beating the crap out of a tire with a sledgehammer. and there's no way I'm going to push my cl down the road for strength training.
