Question MP3 Players

I tried doing a search, but couldn't find anything.

My question is what MP3 players do some of you use when you work out. Price is no concern. I want something that is durable and works well/good sound. I've done some research online and haven't been able to find anything conclusive. I hadn't purchased one yet because the gym I go to had been playing good music, but lately has been getting worse. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I went with a 6GB IPOD mini:
a) I wanted more music then a flash drive could hold.
b) It seems more durable then the larger drive players.
c) It's nice and small and is comfortable with the armband case.

If I was going with a flash player, I would look at the Sony.

I use a 40gb ipod... its kind of overkill and a bit heavy but I put it in a zippered pocket and have no issues. there is no way I could workout without music (I select) playing... ESP. if Im doing cardio.

I do wish it was smaller but I already have 2 other mp3 players that are bigger (and older) than the ipod and dont feel like getting a smaller one atm.

Do you ever have problems with it skipping? I've heard of some people having trouble with them sometimes.

If your just working out in the gym I would choose the RIO Carbon. The Ipods and sony's are nice and all but when you plug in a rio it acts as a hard drive and doesn't need any program to transfer music you just highlight the folder and move it over to the drive. That convenience comes in really handy when your on the go plus the new ones are 6 gb and batteries last long as shit.

If your gonna be running and rattling it I would say invest in a flash player. There are plenty of them out there but again I like to stay away from the proprietary players that make you transfer your files from a program and/or convert your files into their designation. But if you don't mind that stuff then go with what's popular and has plenty of feedback/knowledgebase in case something does happen.

For the gym, ipod shuffle. Small (TINY) easy to use, inexpensive.

but I don't doubt those reports. I run with it occasionally and it doesn't skip.
