Miracle Diet (sorry if it is a repost)?

Anyone ever hear of this:

LOSE 10 LBS, IN 3 DAYS, DIET MUST BE FOLLOWED EXACTLY

First Day
Breakfast: ½ Grapefruit, 1 slice dry toast, 2 tsp. peanut butter, black coffee or tea.
Lunch: ½ Cup dry tuna, 1 slice dry toast, coffee or tea.
Supper: 2 slices any type of meat (3oz.), 1 cup green beans, 1 cup red beats, 1 small apple, ½ cup vanilla ice cream.

Second Day
Breakfast: 1 egg, 1 slice dry toast, ½ banana.
Lunch: 1 cup cottage cheese, 5 saltine crackers.
Supper: 2 hotdogs, 1 cup broccoli, ½ cup carrots, 1 banana, ½ cup vanilla ice cream.

Third Day
Breakfast: 5 saltine crackers, 1 slice cheddar cheese, 1 small apple.
Lunch: 1 hard boiled egg, 1 slice dry toast, coffee or tea.
Supper: 1 cup dry tuna, 1 cup red beets, 1 cup cauliflower, ½ cantaloupe, ½ cup vanilla ice cream.

This diet works on chemical breakdown and is proven. Do not vary or substitute any of the above food items. Salt and pepper may be used, but no other seasonings. This diet is to be used for three days at a time only. In three days you should lose approx. 10 LBS. After three days of the diet, then eat normal for four days with no picking between meals. After your fourth day or normal eating, you may go back on the diet for another three days. You can lose up to 40 LBS. in a month.

ANY CHEATING ON THIS DIET WILL TOTALLY RUIN THE WHOLE DIET, SO IT MUST BE FOLLOWED EXACTLY!!! NO SUBSTITUTIONS ARE ALLOWED!!!
Read about it on Military.com forums.

Bleh. Maybe if you weigh 350 pounds, you'd lose 10 pounds. And as most diet fads/techniques go, there's always the inevitable weight rebound.

On the other forum about 5 people chimed in and said they did. If I can curb my appetite for three days I would try it just for fun, but I'm losing weight at a relatively slow pace right now just eating less and exercising. Trying to get back from 200 to mid 180s. However, if I could "insantly" drop 10 lbs, it would make running that much easier as well as the other good stuff.

If you barely eat anything for three days...yes...you will lose weight.

Now whether that restrictive diet would allow you to continue your usual exercise routine or result in any long lasting weight loss...unlikely.

seriously; from the foods listed, that barely even looks like 1000 calories per day.

of course you're going to lose weight if you're eating @ calorie deficit.

Exactly...it's kind of a "no shit" thing.

Look at pics of Jews in cocentration camps....they didn''t get thin because of supplements or cardio.

The way the diet was "explained" they made it seem like some chemicals in the food would promote some sort of more rapid fat burn...

There is no miracle diet. What people need to understand is that in order to lose weight and keep the weight off they need to make a complete lifestyle change.

The only thing a diet like this would be used for is if a competitor might be trying to drop weight classes before a fight....or something similar.
