I just had an idea.

An idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about...

Ok its a new diet. Every day you get a total of 7 minutes in which you can eat, spaced out however you like. YOu can only eat with one hand, the other hand has to be spinning those big chinese marbles around. You can prepare your food before the time starts and you can still be chewing after it stops.

professional hot dog eaters aren't my target market. if you do happen to be a professional hot dog eater maybe it would have to be 2 minutes per day.

Individually tailored minute plans for specific people...I like where you're going with this.

Instructional videos for different foods?

I don't know about that. Then people would learn how to eat faster and that would be contradictory to the goal of the program.

help people lose weight I guess. really though, I'd just like to see a big fat guy with a stopwatch slammin cheeseburgers.

and 7 minutes FOR THE WHOLE DAY is not that much. You'd really have to be cramming it in to eat as much in 7 minutes as you do normally.

...all my life... I've always been "on the go..." late for something... so I, actually, eat really fast... I don't know about the marble thing... but lots of times... I'm driving to the gym, late for a client.... and eating with one hand... (needlesss to say, driving with the other hand). I've had days where I'd have 12 clients back to back... and I'd get LESS than 7 minutes to eat... (but with both hands though), it's NOT healthy I know... but it's a habit... sometimes on dates, I've had to actually put in an effort to eat slower and remind myself that I'm on a date and NOT make a fool out of myself....

^^ I have to do that ALWAYS. I eat so unbelievably fast...whenever I eat with other people it is a constant struggle to pace myself.

Like jesusjuice said...I actually do eat with the smallest utensils around. It slows me down.

I saw a good one where you only eat the food provided to you in pouches. A local chef business person was running it. Each day, your food for the day (lunch and dinner) arrives delivered to you and you can only eat that for the day. Pretty good food but expensive service.

How about you only eat food while standing on your head The delivered food idea is a nice concept but for busy people who cant always be around a fridge or microwave/oven to cook and reheat the food in makes the idea seem hard to follow

There is a place in Philly that does meals on the go as well, forget the name. Sounds like a great idea and they tailor the food to your goals, mostly high energy food though.

a twist on your 7 minute deal:

you do pushups every morning to determine your eating time allotment.

ie you get 1 minute of chow time for every 10 pushups you do in the morning.

I like this idea. Or, for each 5 minutes of cardio.
