Good at home exercises?

Anyone have any good at home exercises? I've put back on 20lbs since I lost my 50 and figure it's time I start working out, but I need to get into it slowly because of my back. Currently I'm swimming 3 days a week and doing 2 sets of 15 pushups 4 days a week along w/ my back exercises i'm doing w/ my ball (one of those big exercise balls, I mainly am doing stomach exercises and stretches with it).

I was wondering if anyone has any good at home exercises I can do to work into my use of the ball or something of the sort. I plan on getting into the gym again soon (haven't gone since HS) but would like to get a good start on getting in shape before I go in.

I have a small gym in my complex w/ a bike and ellpitical machine that I plan on getting on one or the other for say 20 minutes a day on the days i'm not swimming.

Yea, I do do a lot of walking. I walk to the grocery and liqour store a lot now instead of getting out and driving. It's also about a mile and a half to my classes from where I park so that's a good walk (I no longer take the shuttle we have).

I'm lookin for something to do when i'm sitting on the couch in front of the TV stoned at night to take my mind off of food

you gotta have some serious will power to be able to exercise while you are stoned

I dont think pushups will be the best thing for losing weight. The bike and eliptical should help alot. Try 30 minutes a day though. (the extra 10 will make a big difference )

yea, the pushups aren't being done to lose weight, i'm also just trying to get back into shape. I'll slowly move up my time on both the bike and eliptical till I can get to a good solid 45 minutes to an hour

also thinking about going by the store and buying a jump rope again.

jump rope is great.

you might want to try free squats. its a great and easy way to tone up your legs.

free squats, are just the same, as regular squats without the weights.

just make sure your heels stay on the ground and your back is straight.

so stand staight, and then bend the quads as if you are sitting on a chair. when you come up, don't lock your knees.

i hope that makes sense.

My elliptical is great for keeping in shape, but I've noticed running has much more effect on my weight-loss.

you need to spend a longer amount of time on an elliptical to get the same result as running for a shorter period of time. But it's a lot less stress on your joints.

Find a cheap excercise bike. Stoned while riding the bike = teh funny.

Yeah...I've noticed this fact. I may just run for now until the rest of the weight comes off, then hit the elliptical to maintain.

back problems? i understand completely.

if you are located by stairs, walk up and down those for a while. that is enough to work your legs and get your heartrate up a little. and you dont even have to go fast, just maintain a steady pace.
