Favorite Cardio

What is your favorite cardio? I have been wondering this for a while....

I decided that I hate running only because it hurts my feet more then other types. I think spinning would be my favorite, then an elipical....

I used to like running but after 2+ year break it's hard to get back. So, for now, my choice is elipical. It's also easier on my knees.

Eventually I would like to run as much as I used to (5-7 miles, 4 times/week).

By the way, I started week 2 back in the gym And it feels great!

Ideally I would prefer to play a team sport like hockey or soccer, but that isnt always an option day to day. So I'll have to do with cycling.

Running for me... I can't stand being in once place. I need the freedom and the fresh air to work off the stress of the work day (and to be able to eat what I want).

swimming is cardio right? id put that at my number one, but i havent done that cause i dont want everyone to point at me and be like "look daddy its a whale" so i prefer to run, dont care if everyone sees me jiggle or whatever cause when they see i can run a full mile in a decent time they're probably thinking "ohh hes getting into shape good for him"

I could play basketball for hours.

Back in my college days I'd play 2-3 hours a day, 3-4 days a week, but that just isn't an option these days. I prefer to ride bike around the lakes in my area, but I just don't feel I get the same work-out I get when I run. Thus, I run...

To be honest, I hate cardio.

But, I do it 3 times a week anyhoo just because I know its obvious benefits and requirement to work it in with weight-lifting.

If possible, I try to play sports too...

We used to have 8 of us that would play at least 4 nights a week, for 2-3 hours. That was the best exercise, and so much more fun than running... need to start doing that again.

I've been doing a lot of mountain biking lately. Pretty good workout.

most of my friends that go to the gym play basketball first. due to my bad back, i try to avoid that and running. so now i can comfortably bike on the stationary ones at least 13 miles. and i do this before hitting the weights. about 3 or 4 times a week.

I still play basketball everyday. Right after work from 6-9. I still have my gym membership at the University of Maryland. I need to start lifting again though.

Yeah, I think any sport is more fun than regular exercising. Some are much better workouts too.

For example, I've always considered myself to be in good shape with a good amount of endurance. When I started playing hockey, I immediately got my ass kicked by the energy required. After 2 minutes out on the ice, I was huffing and puffing like an obese man trying to climb a single flight of steps.

thats how I felt in my first krav maga class. This 60 year old guy was kicking my ass and I couldn't even keep my hands up. There aren't many cardio exercises that really work your strength and endurance like a contact sport.

running if effective and efficient, but boring! i still enjoy playing sports more than anything else. However, like everyone's been saying its hard to find a large number of people at any given time to play, especially soccer. I always wanted to try hockey...skated many years ago...AZINE Hockey club?

Running has been the most beneficial to me. I run 6 days a week. Every once in a while, I do the elliptical or stationary bike.

hands down swimming for me, but unfortunately that rarely happens

so eliptical and stationary bike it is. 45 minutes 2-3 times per week is enough to keep the 6-pack visible

Swimming.

Racquetball on the other days or biking. I run and used to run a lot but i really hate it and it is so hard on the bones/joints that I dont think it is worth it. In 30 minutes I can get a similar intensity work out from swimming, but it works the whole body and no pain only soarness.

I also love that you can wear yourself down to nothing when swimming. You get out of the pool and life is hazy and you can barely walk straight, but you still have no pain!

I just started biking ~15 min to the track to jog about half an hour. After not exercising since high school, it's a struggle.
