Even it up...
Okay so my arms were so out of shape before my knee surgery that a mere two weeks of supporting myself on my cane with my right arm has toned it up quite a bit. So much, in fact, that my left arm now looks freakishly out of proportion, and it is noticeably weaker.
I have some 5 and 10 lb dumbbells at the house that I want to use to even them back out. Any suggestions on dumbbell exercises I can do with my left arm that will mimic the improvement I've seen by using a cane with my right arm? I'm specifically noticing a difference on the underside of my upper arm.
Would it be prudent to work BOTH arms out at the same time or should I cool it with the right until I'm done with the cane, so as not to look like Popeye?
TIA.

If you're right handed, it will always be a constant battle to get your left arm as big as your right arm. I've been fighting that battle for 7 years and still haven't won. I'm about ready to .
Just lift heavier with the left and lighter with the right, and make the left do more exercises. That's how I've tried to even mine out and it worked pretty well so far. Just don't neglect the right completely or it'll end up being weak and ugly.
