S'alright. If I were you, I'd just get a membership at the local gym (after reading the recall and defects of the Bowflex from the thread). Works out to be the same...and well, if your company has a gym, use it!

werd, id rather work out at a gym, one reason more variety of machinery to use, and then there are trainers there or whatever that can tell you how to properly use machines etc, and then of course there is the benefit of seeing hawt chicks there but then im still fat so i dunno if thats necessarily a good thing

Machines? I hope it's only cardio stuff. Cuz, free-weights are the way to go, sir!

I would also say that it would be better to take the money that u would save from buying a bowflex, and just get lifetime membership @ a gym.

I could never be motivated enough to keep up w/ working out consistenly on machines @ home. Being @ the gym makes you want to work out.

Well, thats the thing .. everyone is different. For some people, getting motivated to go out of the house to a gym is a problem. SO having a bowflex in the house may be just what the doctor ordered. But I agree , in many cases you are better off spending your money elsewhere.

I have something similar to a bowflex (same technology, not the name) and I would say it is decent if you're not looking for anything beyond toning and some weight training that will never get you ripped.

I would suggest free weights and a bench for him, less money and you can do the same exercises pretty much, or just a gym membership.

Better than nothing, but it cannot compare to a good gym with a wide selection of free weights and other equipment.
