Back to the gym

I have really let myself go in the last 10 years. I used to live at the gym and weight training was part of my daily regiment. I heard somewhere that muscles have memory....can they remember I use to bench 375lbs and squat 550lbs. because I now weigh in at 280lbs at 6'2, a 40lb difference from my training days I find my energy level is short lived. I have a battle ahead of me, but I miss they way I use to feel about myself.

Because I eat very well (too well) should I take energy boosters? temporarly?
I never took anything before, but I was younger and lighter.

I also miss my ex-con training partner who use to push me, the guy was like a psycho info-mercial. Now I go to the gym by myself and have to push myself. Can't get any of my lazy beer guzzling friends to go with me....I need new friends..LOl...
