Transmission shudder/vibration with Redline D6 fixed!
Ok, I recently purchased this used 2010 sh-awd and I've been experiencing the infamous torque coverter shudder when lightly throttle. Seems like the car is going over some rough brick road or the engine is lugging in the lowest gear until I give it a bit more gas and it will go away. I didn't know what it was and had been searching the net/forum insanely.
The vehicle has about 90k miles. Since I bought it, it would shudder everytime I'm cruising around town. I was thinking of buying a dozen or so Honda dw1 atf to do the 3x change, but decided why not give other fluids a try since dw1 came from factory and these things are still failing.
Amsoil was hard to find and the other approved or satisfied for dw1 is redline d6. So I ordered 3 gallon of D6 which is enough for 3x change for $150.
Today I did the first drain and fill. Been driving around town for about 1 hour total since drain and shockingly surprising the shudder is gone!!
I've been trying to give it the slightest throttle so the tranny can go into the lowest gear, which is where it happen, and there was nothing.
Seems like the shifting is seamlessly smoother when switching gear. The rpm stays steady now as it would drop back and forth before.
This 1st change virtually eliminated it. 2 more times and it will be golden.
Will report back next week for the 2nd drain.
