Unhappy my poor TL just had it it's face rearranged

Hello all. I'm new to the site and the Acura community. I wish my first post it could be on a lighter note.

Only a few weeks after purchasing a beautiful 2010 TL SH-AWD MT and getting a clearbra installed, my girlfriend just backed her Honda Accord into it's face, leaving it mangled and disfigured!

My bumper is toast and so is that $$$ clearbra. On top of that, I got a 4 inch nail in one of those pricey Michelin OEM tires. Luckily, I got $150 off because they were new and still covered under some warranty. Still, it's going to cost me $150 for that and better yet, it's not even in stock.

This week has been hell

Anyways, since my bumper is history, I wonder if it would be worthwhile to look into some aftermarket/custom bumpers (if they exist). I'm not sure her insurance would go for that though. Any recommendations? I've got the palladium metallic paint....well, at least that WAS the color. Now it's black and blue, haha

Sorry to hear, but welcome!
I dont think there are any aftermarket bumpers, but there are aftermarket "grills" to get rid of that ugly beak!

Sorry to hear!! I don't think there is anything for the 4G TL other than having one custom made.

Thanks Guys. Oh well, I doubt insurance would pay for that anyways.

I wonder if incident like this will show up against the car's VIN in reports such as CARFAX? I mean my car was parked and it appears that just the bumper is damaged. I hope I dont lose out on re-sale value, although I hope to keep this baby for some time.

I like the grill mod. Looks like the old body style. I have to admit, I don't really mind the beak. It's grown on me.

Welcome to the forums. Unfortunately, since insurance is involved I do think it would show up on Carfax. Contact Rondie regarding his grill. I believe Justin provided you the link to his site above. It might work out for you price wise if you can deal with the insurance company. I believe he still might be working on prototype bumpers for the 4G as well. Good luck.

Oh I like the RJ grill without the Acura symbol, it's very slick. Prices are a little too rich for my blood. Thanks though.

if you decide to go the insurance route, they will/should cover the clear bra...

Do you know if the prototype bumpers are for the front, rear, or both?

I got my baby back!!! I talked to my clearbra installer and he recommended I wait a few weeks for my paint to cure before installing the film.
Unfortunately, some idiot threw a can out their window on the drive home from the body shop and guess who's unprotected bumper hit it!! Grrrr!!!

They did a decent job on the repair, but its still not the same in my eyes. I don't feel like the bumper fits perfectly, but maybe it never really did. Unfortunately I never paid that close attention to it.
