Last weekend, I went on my first long trip which was about 300 miles each way. I was very pleased with how comfortable my TL SH-AWD was. The great ELS sound system in the quiet cabin made the long trip very enjoyable, and the seats were comfy.
The passing power was great. At one point, I was just leaving the rest area and I was trying to merge from the ramp. This huge truck was coming up from behind me on the freeway, without moving to the left lane to allow me to merge safely. So I just floored the gas pedal and the TL SH-AWD just took off immediately as the rpm soared to 5-6000rpm with a sweet, solid grunt, as the truck just disappeared rapidly in my rearview mirror! YAY! This was the first time that I did it with the TL SH-AWD. It was very satisfying.
I was particularly impressed by the gas mileage - on my way there I got on average 27mpg, with mostly freeway and going at 70mph. On my way back, it was raining and windy, and there was more of an uphill incline, so not surprisingly, I got a lower average of 25.8mpg, with again mostly highway driving, and a good few miles of very heavy local traffic.
I am happy with this gas mileage! The car also felt even smoother, quieter and more responsive after this trip. I know that with my last car (1G TSX), it took me a while to really break the engine in. So I guess this will continue to improve in time with my TL SH-AWD!

Great news. I am very close to buying a 2010 auto AWD tech tomorrow. Gas mileage is important to me.
