I will give you the same anwser I gave my father with his new Acura who had the same question. He is 68.

A. Loose weight

B. Get in better shape and or loose weight.

C. If you do not think either is possible or needed and are in denial go to step 1.

Step 1. Program whatever memory setting is linked to the current key as seat all the way back and where you like to have it for easy access to get in or out.

Step 2. Press the memory button that is not linked to the key being used and have that be your comfortable road position.

Step 3. Watch your 76 year old neibor get on his sport touring bike and take off like he is 20 while you are waiting for step 2 to finish moving the seat for the road position.

Just noticed you said for tall people. The method works for tall people too.

That is usually tied to power steerting wheel adjustment/seat adjustment. My 2006 RL had that feature. Well, actually, a part of that feature. The steering wheel would power up when the car was turned off but the seats remained in the same position. The new RLX has that feature, powering the steering wheel up, the seats back the folding the outside rear view mirrors in. Hopefully that trickes down to the new TLX

The 2013 Lexus ES also has this feature.

My old 2002 Infiniti I35 had part of that feature. The seat moving back one. LOL. I also loved the heated steering wheel. Man that was one of my favorite features for the I35. Wish the TL had heated steering wheel. Comes in handy for the cold weather peeps like me.

My Navigator had it and it annoyed the shit out of me.

Honestly-- I'm 6' 4" and I do not have any issues getting in and out of my car, so I do not think that this is a height issue.

Reviving a dead thread...

I just bought a 2013 4G and had the same question, because I came from a 3G, and I could swear it had this feature, at least the seat moving. Wondering if this issue has been addressed since the thread was abandoned...

The only automatic adjustment that I'm aware of is when different key fobs are used that have different settings. My wife has #1 and I have #2. We both have the settings at different levels so when we use our fob, it adjusts to where we set it. Otherwise, I'm not aware of any change in the seat or steering wheel position when you get in or out of the car.

The 3G TL has no ability to automatically move the seat back upon entry, nor did I find that an issue when I owned one. But when I got my SH-AWD I found that with the seat positioned where I want it while driving, on entry I would have to squeeze between the wheel and the larger seat side bolsters, rubbing against the edge of the bolster in the process. I'm the only driver, so I just modified my saved driver 2 position to be the same as the driver 1 position, except with the seat pushed farther back. When I open the door I push the #2 button for entry, then push button #1 when seated. Easy peasey.

Based on Honda's behavior, you need to have a power steering column adjustment in order to facilitate the easy-entry feature. The 1st gen RL's had it, and the 2nd gen MDX's had it, and each carried it forward across generations. The TL/TLX do not have the power column adjustment and as such you don't get the easy entry/exit feature. Some mfg's do the seat only, but I've not seen Honda take that approach....

The TLX seat slides back upon entry and exit, by default. That can be changed by the driver.
