Good question. I was about to buy the disc on eBay but you also have to enter a serial key specific to your car. Based on my past experience with Honda/Acura Nav's, I'd just recommend going to the dealer. Here's more info:

After searching further, it appears that Acura actually imbeds the information from your vehicle onto the disc, thus only allowing it to update for your specific car, based on VIN, database version and device ID. They require that information before they send you the disc, presumably so they can imbed the info and prevent pirating. So in short, I don't see any way around it. Using another persons disc wouldn't work.

You can buy the updates online -- search for Acura navigation. The discs are normally $150, I think, plus shipping, but they periodically run specials where you can get them for $99, sometimes with free shipping.
That's the only source I'm aware of. Anything else and you may run into problems such as described above.
