Bumper vs Labrador
All of a sudden my Labrador decided to eat the corners of my TL 09 bumper. I was told that I need to replace the bumper cover by three body shops: $950, $840, $740. Seems crazy when just the little corner got chewed off. However the lip that gives rigidity to that section of the bumper is gone. Knowing myself I will go insane looking at that flaw everytime I look at the car. At one time I thought of 'patching' it up by adding the front underbody spoilers which seem to be around $400 installed. The insurance deductable is $500 but I know they will also raise the premium.
Someone told me it would not look good unless I do both front and rear spoilers. But that is not really what I want. I also hate the idea of buring money like this. I can think of better ways to spend the money.
Any ideas???

Welcome to Acurazine. If you like the Aspec Kit spoilers, it's a good alternative. But I think the $400 is the installation cost-not the cost of the spoiler kit.

I show the front bumper cover as $234 from parkacuraoemparts.com
Add in the cost of paint... which depending on your color code could be about $400-$500 and you're not too far from there.

Those prices are reasonable. It's the paint and labor and not the cost of the bumper. What color do you have? I had a quote done on my WDP back bumper and it was $900 out the door (tax, etc. included). The shop said that WDP is a "glamour" color with the pearlescent color and they need to do extra few steps in the paint process.
BTW, the title suggested a car vs. dog accident. Glad it wasn't that!

cute chocolate lab. The dogs we love always seem to go after our nice things, don't they?

Kong's have prevented a LOT of damage around my house - I have a Boston Terrier who chews carpet, walls, the couch.... If she chewed my car I might have a heart attack though.
I got her Kong bone at PetSmart, it was pretty inexpensive in comparison to all the things I've had to repair

Its a long shot but salvage yards may have the front bumper...also if you do the labor yourself you will save quite a bit. Believe it or not taking the bumper off is a piece of cake. I just replaced my front grille using those instructions and removing the bumper was cake walk...

cute dog. Don't know if you care about perfection or not, but I'm sure you could sand it down and prime and paint it with some spray paint since its just a small corner piece.
