Thinking of selling...
Looking for some advice on selling my TSX...
After a lot of thinking I've decided it's a great car but I just can't afford it right now while in college. So I want to sell and then buy something cheaper...perhaps a RSX-S. Need to stay below $12k. My question is what should my asking price be and where all do I need to post? i.e. autotrader, ebay, craigslist, etc.
The car...
06 TSX AT
Miles: 62000
Has Navigation
Color: ASM (Silver) exterior and black interior
KPTechnologies mods: Window Up, electronic beep, one touch sun roof.
Other mods: Xenon White LED's for all interior lights and license plate...20% 3M tint w/ Molskin...TL-S switchblade key.
Notes: Car has been very well taken care of. A few minor paint blemishes and the interior is in amazing condition. Title is clean and no major problems. Biggest issue was door lock actuator which I replaced a few months ago. I'll post one pic here and make an official thread in the FS area. Thanks in advance for input. I'm gonna miss it!
That's downtown Charlotte NC in the background.

When I recently sold my Jeep, I placed a free ad on the forums, craigslist, vehix.com and ebay. Ebay had a free "local classified" lisiting option, but I'm not sure if it's still available. I waited a couple months before I finally got desperate and paid for a deluxe ad on Autotrader. Ironically, the week after my Autotrader ad went up, I sold it to some guy who found my vehicle using craigslist (urghhhh, I wasted $50 for the Autotrader ad, but oh well, I sold it for a good price). Cars.com is another option, but it's not free and I'm not sure how much traffic it gets.
As far as price goes, I'd recommend you do some research on KBB, Edmunds TMV and NADA to come up with a fair market value for your car. I'm not sure how to factor in mods into your price. Good luck!

Oh yeah, I got calls from some car broker who tried to rope me into paying them $400 or so for them to sell my car. They said that they would refund me the money if they weren't able to sell it for my desired price within 60 days (or something like that). Sounds a bit fishy, so I gave them the Sarah Palin: "Thanks but no thanks!"

Dang that's frustrating about posting and then it being sold. Think I'll try to just stick to craigslist and forums and hopefully that'll work. Thanks for you suggestions though. I've heard of those guys before but I've never heard of good experiences with them. I'm not going to add too much for the mods. I just want it sold

Not really sure if it's worth it? I absolutely love my TSX, but sometimes I think it would have been "smarter" to buy a cheaper used car. Reason I'm not doing that is because even though my car is a bit over a year old I'd be losing a decent amount due to depreciation.
That being said, if you want to buy a RSX-S for under $12k, how much do you expect to get for your 06 TSX w/62k miles? I don't think you'd be saving a whole lot doing this, and is it really worth the hassle of jumping into a used car (which may need potential repairs) to save a few grand?
Now if you wanted to jump into a RSX-S for other reasons I'd say go for it.

Thanks Wolfy...I might invest in that.
Civic: Yeah it has a lot of mileage but I've looked around at what others are selling for and what kbb/edmunds says and I'm gonna post at $18k obo...any offer considered. There are other reasons besides just a cheaper car. Feel like the RSX-S just fits me more. It's more closer to the street scene. I'll miss my TSX like none other I just can't afford the payments anymore. I'm a broke college kid

Yeah I love them. Use them all the time. If you're anywhere near NC or SC I'll help ya. They're not that expensive and they're easy to do.

Make a hole, coming thru!
Dang, you have the car I should've bought. Every once in a while I wish I'd waited for a Navi model to come up for sale. Best of luck....

No, but will ask around.
Do you remember which license plate LEDs you used (vendor, type), I'm thinking of doing that one of these chilly fall evenings...

Thanks. I used www.ijdmtoy.com but many have used www.superbrightleds.com There are threads about it on here that'll come up in a search.
ijdmtoy is a little more expensive but they have the xenon whites that I like. It's white with a hint of blue and they look great. I have pictures up on this thread:
