that's the most logical use, but the console has an area for change. i'm just thinking, there has to be some purpose, and some reason why they made it bright red.

It's not a place you'd want to mistake for an ashtray, because it's probably flammable. It's probably red to stop potential idiot passengers in your car from assuming it is one, and to have them instead read the label.

It would be much nicer if cars still came with them, so people dont litter their damn cigarette butts all over the road.

it's often an option. "smoker's package" an option i'd never take. i love not having that garbage in my car. smokers who litter (pretty much 99.9999% of them) should face the littering fine.

I offer a "smoker's package"... It entails a smack upside the head. Anybody that comes anywhere near my car with a lit cigarette and thinks they're getting inside gets a smack upside the head. A boot if they don't learn the first time.

As for the "Not an ashtray", it holds my little pipe-cleaner figure ("Snowboardin' Wayne") and my Listerine Pocket Packs.

Its for pennies

I like the smokers who hold their cigs out the window so they don't fowl up the smell of the car, but they have no problem inhaling that shit into their mouth and lungs. DUMB.

Heh, paying $100 dollars for an ash tray seems inexpensive compared to the amount of money a smoker puts into cigs.

Kiddin' of course, but still funny when you think about the amount of money a smoker spends on cigs. Then again $100 pays for a lot of cigs. Just don't smoke in a car that you spend close to $30k on and then mod (spending more $$$). Seems pretty basic to me.

If I smoked (don't) I still wouldn't smoke in a car. It makes the whole car smell like an ASHTRAY.

Smoking does tend to deaden the capability to smell things. A woman at work quit smoking and after a week or so she mentioned how she could actually smell things she hadn't before.

Everything will smell like an ashtray if you smell like an ashtray. So much so that eventually you don't smell the "smokey" smell anymore. But hey let's not make this a bash the smokers thread.

Yah it's kind of strange. The game itself was suppose to be a "home game" but they are playing it down there for all the gmac folks I guess. To bad they aren't rated better.

Maybe you can use a Sharpie to dye it. The color shouldn't fade and the contact high is an added plus!

I can't close my door. My radar detector power plugs in there..... and it doesn't really bother me what is says. It's like those doors that say "NOT AN EXIT" or better yet the documentation that has a page that says "THIS PAGE IS INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK ". I assume the words on not meant for me as I wouldn't think to use said device as a ash tray since it's made of obviously flameable material. The words on there for the rest of the lemmings.

I tried to put my weapons of mass destruction in my "THIS IS NOT AN ASHTRAY", but I couldn't find them.

I wouldn't mind it if someone labeled this thread "NOT WORTH READING" j/k. Excessive lawsuits have led to the dumbmification of our country. TINAA warning is for the .00001% who would use it as an ashtray, set the car on fire and sue Acura.

it just bothers me because i'm thinking, well, if it's not an ashtray, what is it?

why arent those words on any other compartment? i know, an ashtray would normally be there, but hasnt it been long enough that cars don't come with ashtrays for us to realize?

i just think it's stupid, and i don't understand why it's red felt, instead of black plastic like everything else up there.

Have you ever thought that perhaps Acura uses that bright red color to catch your attention in order to prevent people from using the compactment as an ash tray? Imagine if it were black as the rest of the car and someone accidentally put their car on fire simply because they didn't notice because it was the same color.
