Should I make the move to a TL ??
I know i just made the thread about keeping the tsx lol but i found a 2007 tl type s 6 speed. Color combo ive always wanted and for a really good price.
Think i'll regret leaving the TSX? Im stuck on what to do, i always wanted a tl but i still love my tsx? what to do ,what to do

If I was in the position to move to a Type s TL i think i would. If the TL is what you wanted go for it, just remember the rear seats don't fold, so some of the cargo versatility goes away.

I love my 06 TSX also; but, I wish it had more power. Previous gen TL can still turn some heads, especially the TL-S. If they ever make a TL-S with the current gen, it will cost +$50,000.
I willing to bet after a week with the TL-S, the TSX will be a distant memory.

We already have the "type S" with SH-AWD... it makes about 25/19 hp/tq extra than the standard TL and is now available with a 6spd.

If you're okay with the extra gas consumption I'd do it.. My old car had a 3.5, I'm not looking to get back into one just yet..that much power is essentially useless in Ontario lol..

The 3G Type S is Acura's best looking car to date. If I didn't have to have an automatic that's what I'd be looking for. Curious, what color combo, price, miles, etc?

I sold my '08 TL and purchased my '08 TSX that I have now. The TL was just too big and floaty for me, and the brakes were horrible. I never felt comfortable in the car. It had too many buttons on the center stack, and after owning the car, I hated the location of alot of the buttons and controls.
The Type-S will address those performance issues I mentioned, but make sure it's what you want. There are pros and cons to both cars. A couple of the pros for the TL are:
#1 obviously the power of the type S
#2 the brembo brakes
#3 the enhanced look of the type-S. It does look great compared to the regular TL. Another pro for the TL is the seats....they are better quality and more comfortable than the TSX, overall.
A couple of the cons for the TL (IMO) are:
#1 The seats, although more comfortable, are pretty wide too. I felt like I was sliding around in them sometimes. (I like to snug-ness of the TSX seat).
#2 The money out of your pocket for the type S. The Type S is still selling for a premium, and at this point, a 2007 is pretty much a 3-year old car.
#3 It will gobble up more gas than your TSX.
#4 I guess this is just a personal preference, but the TL center-stack is busy and the layout is horrible. I always found myself reaching for a button in the TL, only to have to take a 2nd or 3rd look at the centerstack to find the right button. The TSX has a much cleaner look to the center-stack with a lot less buttons.
You know all the positives about the TSX. I looks great, drives and handles great too. My advice is if they'll let you take the TL for an overnight test-drive, I'd do that. Drive it on the roads that you normally travel...to work, etc... The TL is a bigger car that doesn't have the same feel and handling of a TSX. I thought I'd love the TL when I bought it, but after a month of owning it, it just felt "blah" to me.
Make sure the Type S is what you want before buying and regretting, like I did. Good luck.

I think we still have until the 2012 or 2013 before we see the TL Type-S again.
I still say go for the TL Type-S!!!

For me, it's not really worth the "upgrade" unless you just want a bigger car. I have both a '05 TSX and a '07 TL-S. While the TSX couldn't hold a torch to the TL-S from a power standpoint, I find it more engaging and fun to drive... and while I love the power of the TL-S, I look at it more as my "cruiser". I'm sure if I statistically measured the handling performance of the TL-S versus the TSX, they'd probably be fairly close... yet, I feel like I'm driving a MUCH larger car. As someone mentioned, with that larger car feeling, you don't even have the larger car versatility. I'm an avid snowboarder, and that means the TL-S doesn't see mountain time (not that I'd want it to) unless I put a cargo box on the roof.
In a nutshell, if I wanted a different whip, I'd personally go out of the Acura/Honda family for something else. Just my 2 cents...
If you have the bucks, I'd spring for the '10 TL SH-AWD for something truly "different" from what you have now.

To the OP, I still stand by what I said --- once the novelty of the power goes away, I believe you'll find the TSX more "fun" to drive... I am biased toward compacts however. Big cars don't really do it for me. The TL-S was an impulse buy.

That's sad considering I bought mine NEW for $32k... they were selling them for so little (at least in NJ), it was hard to pass up at the time...
